Purpose: Designed to enhance the competencies of the present permit clerks or technicians, to prepare persons for the national certification examination as building permit technicians, and to provide certain knowledge of building codes, zoning codes, permit processes, legal aspects, customer service and standards of building, to prepare persons for a career as a building permit technician.
