Program Purpose: This program is offered in partnership with Anoka-Ramsey Community College and is designed for students with a degree in nursing, pharmacology, or biological sciences who desire to move into clinical research positions in biomedical or other health-related companies. Graduates will work in research monitoring, clinical research coordination, clinical data management, and regulatory affairs. Classes include specific biomedical coursework, as well as microbiology, statistics, pharmacology, and field experience with a biomedical company. Program Admission: Admission to the Clinical Research Professional Certificate Program requires prior completion of an RN (AS, AD, BSN) degree or a baccalaureate degree in pharmacology, biology or a related field. An application for college admission and a separate Biomedical Program Application must be submitted to the ARCC Admissions and Records Office. Please request that official transcripts be sent to the same office. Inver Hills students must also apply for admission to this program through ARCC which grants the certificate. College-level competence in English, writing, and mathematics should be acquired before entering the BMED programs.
Program Information: The BMED core courses and NURS 2261 are taught by ARCC but will be held at Inver Hills. A minimum grade of C must be earned in all program course requirements. A cumulative GPA of 3.00 is required for all certificate courses. Anoka-Ramsey grants the certificate upon completion of all requirements. BMED 1100, 2100, 2200, and 2400 should be completed before taking BMED 2297 Field Experience and Seminar. MATH 1103 is required as a prerequisite to or with concurrent enrollment in BMED 2400. CS 1100 Introduction to Computers is required for students who cannot demonstrate competence in basic computer skills.
