Nursing Assistant Certificate

(5-6 credits)

Purpose: Provides training required for basic entry into health care as a nursing assistant. Students have the option of completing NURS 1001, a single course (5 credits) offered over approximately 10 to 12 weeks, or the Health Care Core Curriculum (HCCC), a sequence of short courses that total 6 credits meeting over 14 weeks. Both conclude with 24 hours of supervised clinical experience in a long-term care facility.
