Associate in Fine Art (A.F.A.)

The Associate in Fine Art degree is a two-year degree for students pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Art degree and for students interested in entering the art job market. Students will take 30 credits in general requirements and 33 credits in art. A seminar class in the final semester will prepare the students by teaching skills in slide taking, resume, artist statement, and how to apply to schools, jobs, grants, and exhibitions.

The A.F.A. degree will give art students a strong foundation for transfer to a four-year institution. The focus will be on taking art history, introductory studio art, and design courses and two advanced courses in their area of focus. Students should be able to transfer with junior status to a four-year institution.
