Whether you're entering college from high school, transferring from another school, or entering college as a working adult, Inver Hills has options available for you. At Inver Hills, there is a diverse group of students that choose to study in a variety of programs. We have over 5,000 students each semester, with an average age of 23. Thirty-five percent of our students are between the ages of 18-21.
Seventy-one percent of our students are from underrepresented populations and 20% of our students are first-generation college students. Students of color comprise 18% of our student community. Our male to female ratio is 41:59 respectively.

Inver Hills Community College is a designed with our students in mind. We have many student services and activities available on campus in our College Center, Library Building, Activities Building, and Fine Arts Building. To see these services first-hand, we encourage you to visit our campus!
Our campus, founded in 1970, has been described as one of the most beautiful campuses in the metro area. We have recently undergone renovations to our College Center and Fine Arts Building, along with the construction of Heritage Hall, a science-oriented building with excellent labs and classroom space.
Our Community College is designed like a four-year campus, with separate buildings and multi-use athletic fields on campus, including:
- Activities Building with Nautilus Fitness Center, Gym, and Outdoor Center.
- Ball field, multi-purpose athletic field, and walking areas on campus.
- Mall area in the middle of campus offers students an area to study, eat, and relax!
Inver Hills Community College offers four types of degrees and numerous certificate options. Our degrees are:
- Associate in Arts: General transfer degree, which is our largest major.
- Associate in Science: 21 degree options, including the sciences, healthcare, and other occupational fields.
- Associate in Applied Science: 5 degree options in the technology and business fields.
- Associate in Fine Arts: Art-specific transfer degree focusing on design, history, and studio art.
Inver Hills' certificates are concentrated programs of study designed to be completed quickly.

If you're a busy adult, live far from campus, or need to fit classes around your work schedule, you'll be happy to hear that Inver has a very flexible class schedule. This past year, we've actually had nearly 25% of our classes online, and many more are offered during night or weekend sessions. Our ASAP program (Adult Success through Accelerated Programs) offers accelerated courses at a variety of locations to better assist our adult learners.
