Name:Nathan Hanson
Hometown: Inver Grove Heights, MN
Area of Study: A.A. with emphasis in Political Science
Activities in College: I'm the former Student Senate President and Legislative Director, I serve on some college committees, and I'm a workstudy in the Counseling Department.
Favorite thing about Inver: The staff and faculty. They are all very friendly and make you feel welcome.
Best piece of advice for incoming student: Get involved. One of your first stops on campus should be the Student Life department. If there isn't a club or group you are interested in, make one!
Where you'll usually find me on campus: In the Student Senate office, Student Life, or the Counseling Center.
A little more about Nathan: Since coming to Inver, I've done a ton of stuff I never thought I would do. I was elected as Legislative Director and then President of the Student Senate; I've represented Inver students on a national level; and I was just recently elected as an officer in the MSCSA, which represents over 100,000 students in Minnesota's two year colleges. I don't think any of this would have been possible for me if it wasn't for what I've learned at Inver.
Name: Raelinh Vo
Hometown: Apple Valley, MN
Area of Study: Human Services
Activities in College: Student Senator since Fall 2007, became Senate Vice President in Fall 2009
Favorite thing about Inver: I cannot pick just one:
Best piece of advice for incoming student: Don't just come on campus to go to class and then leave. I learned fast that the student's voice is important so get involved to get your voice heard. Once you become involved (if there isn't a club you are interested in then you can start one!), it's no longer just college and classes. It's a great experience.
Where you'll usually find me on campus: Student Life, the cafeteria, or the Student Senate.
A little more about Raelinh: I am 1/2 Vietnamese. I have been overseas twice for choir (in high school), but have never been to Disney World. The choir went to Italy my sophomore year and Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic my senior year. I love to sing and meet new people; I guess that's why I am going into Human Services.
