Important Information
- To use the form your internet browser must be Internet Explorer 5.5 or newer or Netscape 6.0 or newer.
- You may need to submit high school or college transcripts as part of the application process. Requirements are as follows:
High School:
If you graduated from high school within the last five years, request that official high school transcripts be sent directly to the Inver Hills Office of Enrollment Services (G.E.D. recipients, submit a copy of the certificate). If your high school participates in Docufide (electronic transcript delivery), you can have your transcripts delivered to Inver Hills electronically. If your school does not participate in Docufide, your transcripts will have to be delivered in paper form. High school transcripts do not have to be submitted if you graduated from high school or received a G.E.D. more than five years ago.
College:
Official transcripts of previous college work are required only if you
1. are applying for financial aid or veterans benefits or
2. want to have credits evaluated for transfer to Inver Hills or for course equivalencies.
Also, students with college math or English composition completed may have the option of submitting transcripts instead of taking assessment tests (see below). Transcripts from all institutions you have attended should be sent to:
Enrollment Services
Inver Hills Community College
2500 East 80th Street
Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076.
College transcripts must be official transcripts and mailed directly to Inver Hills. Although transcripts are not required for Regular Admission, you are urged to submit them for academic advising purposes.
- The $20 application fee (nonrefundable) will be assessed when you register for your first term at Inver Hills; the charge will appear on your student account invoice.
- After your application is processed, you will receive a letter verifying the status of your application. The letter will indicate any items still due, such as transcripts. You also may arrange to take the Inver Hills assessment inventory in reading, writing, and mathematics (these tests indicate what level of math and composition courses you may take). If you completed college-level mathematics and composition courses at another college, you may have satisfied these requirements. See http://depts.inverhills.edu/Assessment/Assessment_exemptions.htm
- Once your file is complete (transcripts received, assessment scores posted), you will receive an acceptance letter and information about upcoming orientation/registration sessions.
State law requires that students born after 1956 be immunized for certain diseases. Complete the immunization form that is included with application materials. (Click here to download the form - PDF document.) All students have to report either their dates of immunization or their exemption from reporting. You are exempt if you were born before 1956 or if you graduated from a Minnesota high school in 1997 or later (fill out the appropriate part of the form - PDF document). Exemptions also are permitted based on conscientious and medical reasons; see the form. You may submit the form by mail or in person.
