The French department offers a rich selection of lower division courses. Students obtain a valuable level of proficiency and cultural understanding in a stimulating and communicative environment. Learning is enhanced through multimedia technology, the French Club, and study abroad opportunities. Students discover that by learning French, they not only gain useful skills, they also acquire new perspectives on the world. Coursework may be used to satisfy electives and program requirements, to cultivate personal interests, or to begin the path toward a minor or major in French. Students often complete their first two years of study at Inver Hills and then transfer their credits to a four-year institution.
