Theatre --- THTR

About the Theatre Department

The theatre department at Inver Hills offers a wide variety of courses on both the practical and theoretical levels. Students may begin with introductory courses to theatre and film that involve viewing and analyzing of performances to become critical and astute audience members. They can take an array of practicum courses in acting, directing, make-up, oral interpretation of literature and creative drama for children. Not only can students learn in the classroom, but opportunities to become involved in student productions through theatre activities classes can enhance student learning through experience. Instructors bring a wide array of academic credentials and professional theatrical experience into the classroom. Opportunities to see the faculty’s professional acting and directing in the larger metro area community can also add to the students learning experience. Many students have gone on from Inver Hills to become respected professional actors, designers and theatrical managers in the metro area theatre community. Opportunities for both the beginner and the very experienced give our department an exciting and interconnected atmosphere.
