In our department, we study communication's role in a variety of aspects of our lives. We study all forms of communication including interpersonal, intercultural, organizational, mediated and public speaking. We believe that communication touches both our personal and professional lives. Taking communication courses will help you communicate in a diverse workplace and help you excel in communicating effectively in interpersonal, small group and public settings.
Today's students are ever changing. College is no longer just for traditional students. The Communication department has worked hard to offer a diverse schedule that will meet the needs of our diverse student population. We offer courses during the day, at night and some on Saturday. We also offer almost all of our courses online and are expanding into web-enhanced courses. Courses fulfill transfer curriculum requirements and provide majors with core prerequisites. Majors pursue a wide range of career opportunities including law, teaching, public service, politics, journalism, advertising and many other fields that require good communication skills.
