DARS, Degree Audit Reporting System

If you submit official transcripts from schools that you previously attended, the Office of Enrollment Services will evaluate your prior coursework for transfer into your degree here at Inver Hills. Once evaluated, your transfer credits will show on your Degree Audit Report audit (DARS), which can be viewed online and printed. DARS is a self-advising tool that greatly simplifies the preparation of student transfer and graduation. It is an automated process for tracking your academic progress toward completing your degree at Inver Hills.

Your DARS report can be viewed online by following these steps:

  1. Go to Online Inver Hills
  2. Select Online services log-in.
  3. Login by entering your Student ID number and PIN. (Your Student ID number is found on your admissions letter and your PIN is initially set to your birth date in the yymmdd format or the last six digits of your SSN.)
  4. Click on Grades and Transcripts.
  5. Select Degree Audit Report.
  6. For instructions on how to read your audit, click on How to Read your DARS (a PDF document).

DARS Frequently Asked Questions (a PDF document)

Students can view a tutorial about DARS and how to interpret a DARS audit by clicking on http://www.dars.mntransfer.org/updates/captivate/ReadIA.swf

If you believe additional transfer credits could be used toward your degree, please print off and complete the Course Substitution/Waiver Request form (a pdf document).
