We want you to know about the latest Inver Info, special opportunities for alumni, and events. If you attended Inver Hills, just click on the link below to the online form, complete it, and we'll make sure you receive updates by e-mail as well as "In Touch," our alumni newsletter, and other event announcements. If you want, tell us what you've been doing and we can include that in our "Alumni Notes" section of the newsletter.
Would you like to freshen up your resume or your interview skills? The Career and Employment Services Department serves alumni with career learning and career search. There are also opportunities to help current students by becoming a career contact.
See the Outstanding Alumni Award (a pdf document) for details on nominating a former Inver Hills student for this recognition, given annually at commencement. Any former student, regardless of the number of credits earned or whether they earned a degree, is eligible.

The year brings great opportunities for students and alumni.
I remember my first day at Inver Hills. It was many years ago.
I cherish those memories of great classroom conversations, fabulous instructors, service learning and friendships. I also value what Inver Hills means to me today.
I’ve had more than 30 years of an amazing career in the Human Services field. Today, I’m the executive director of Dakota Woodlands. Our organization benefits from a wonderful partnership with Inver Hills Community College. We have students from many fields of study volunteering through service learning hours, assisting at our shelter for families who are homeless. I valued the service learning of my own education and today I love the time and energy that students give to our organization and others in the community. I love to talk about Inver Hills whenever there’s an opportunity. Many of the students that come to our place remind me of myself. They are taking charge today delving into learning all that they can and have hopes and dreams for a bright tomorrow.
I invite all alumni to find ways to still be involved in Inver Hills Community College. Whether you finished classes last year or long ago, there are ways to be involved; attend a play, introduce a student to the school, serve as a contact to a current student who has career related questions, attend a Breakfast with the President event, attend our Building Brighter Futures event, Golf in the summer in our Forrest Glewwe Golf Classic, come to an alumni board meeting, and give financial support as every amount counts. Contact Mary Dimick to learn about ways to be involved. You'll be glad you're still connected. I also personally welcome connecting with you during the year.
Have a great year,
Reyne Branchaud-Linsk

Alumni enjoy 2009 Inver Hills Golf Event
June 22nd was a beautiful, warm summer day for the 13th annual Forrest Glewwe Golf Classic! Golfers from all over the Twin Cities area enjoyed a great day on the links at Southview Country Club in West St. Paul. This year we had more alumni than ever before join in the fun.
Tournament participants started out their day with lunch and 18 holes of golf. Tournament prizes were awarded for best overall in men's class, women's class and best alumni foursome. Golfers and other dinner guests enjoyed the social hour, an elegant meal and silent and live auction in the clubhouse. This event raised over $22,000, providing scholarships and programs that support Inver Hills students. We want to thank the many alumni that participated by golfing in this event or attending the dinner in support of these students. Thanks to all who joined us at this event and to our many great sponsors!
Matching Grant for 2009-2010 Alumni Appeal
Once again, The Katherine B. Andersen Foundation has offered Inver Hills a $10,000 challenge grant for Alumni giving. In late September, you will receive a letter asking for your help in raising money to secure this matching grant plus another $2,000 from Friends of Dennis Anderson. Students from Inver Hills will be calling Alumni and asking you to give generously. Each dollar that you give will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $12,000. Your generous support in 2008-2009 made it possible to receive the entire $10,000 from The Katherine B. Andersen Foundation plus the additional $2,000 from a Friends of Dennis Anderson donor. We thank you for your past support and hope you will again give generously to this important Alumni Campaign! Our students are counting on you!
We need your input...
We'd love to hear from you! Be sure to complete the "Tell us About YOU!" form in this newsletter and let us know about your accomplishments. Or you can email us at alumni@inverhills.edu. We are also looking for Outstanding Alumni nominations. This award is given out at Commencement each year. You can find the nomination form on the Inver Hills web site under Foundation/Alumni.
