Forrest Glewwe Golf Classic
The Forrest Glewwe Golf Classic tournament began in 1997 as an annual event to raise funds in support of the mission of Inver Hills Community College and to provide scholarships for students. The Golf Classic is named in honor of the late Forrest Glewwe, a noted community leader and longtime president of Southview Bank. Forrest Glewwe was committed to the success of Inver Hills College, serving both as the chair of the College's Advisory Board from 1990 until his death in 1999, and the president of the College's Foundation from 1995 through 1999.
A day to remember
Golfers in the Forrest Glewwe Golf Classic at Southview Country Club will begin their afternoon with a delightful luncheon, then head to the renowned Southview course for 18 holes of golf. Golfers can also try their luck in the putting challenge and other contests conducted at selected holes. A relaxing social hour and an elegant dinner in the dining room will follow, featuring silent and live auctions (A dinner/auction-only attendance for non-golfers is also possible.) Rain or shine, the Golf Classic is an enjoyable day to remember for experienced and novice golfers alike. Southview Country Club has been the area's premier 18-hole facility since 1919. Lush fairways, soft greens, and gorgeous floral plantings offer a relaxed golfing atmosphere where players of all levels can enjoy the game. Southview Country Club is conveniently located east of the intersection of Robert Street and Mendota Road in West St. Paul.
