Routers, switches, stacks, racks, wiring. Cisco Systems is the leader in the hardware and software that make the internet work.
And Inver Hills is a leader when it comes to network training, both credit and noncredit.
Here's why...
Cisco certification/Cisco training (noncredit)
Course work is conveniently scheduled evenings and weekends that leads to industry-recognized certifications. These are noncredit options offered through the Center for Professional and Workforce Development, the college's continuing education division.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Additional training options include the following (visit Information Technology Training for details)
A+ and Server+
Network Security (Cisco)
Fundamentals of Wireless LANs
IP Telephony
For information about these options and this training, call 651-450-8578 or visit CE/CT.
Computer Networking and Technology (CNT) degrees and certificates (credit)
Course work in the CNT department that provides Cisco instruction is offered for college credit and can lead to the degrees and certificates listed below.
The curriculum is structured so that new students can earn certificates and learn skills progressively that will prepare them for employment at increasing levels of responsibility and expertise. For instance, the starting courses can prepare students to take standardized industry tests (VUE) that earn them A+ and Server+ designations. These skills are those required for entry-level IT employees who configure computers, support software use, and work on networks, for example (see the certificates listed below).
Network Technology and Security, A.A.S. (60 credits)
I.T. Help Desk Certificate (17 credits)
Advanced Network Technology Certificate (18 credits)
Network Security Certificate (18 credits)
IP Telephony Certificate (18 credits)
