Opportunities for High School Students

PACE students

Inver Hills offers four unique programs that allow qualifying high school students to earn college credits for free while still in high school, ensuring seamless transfer of those credits to nearly any college or university in Minnesota, and many others nationwide.InCollege logo
If you are a high school junior in the top third of your class or a senior in the top half of your class, InCollege allows you to take college courses at your high school with easy transfer of credits to Inver Hills, other community colleges and four-year universities. These college courses fulfill requirements for the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC), and are specially developed to meet both high school and college requirements. At the college level, they are often referred to as “concurrent enrollment.”

If you are a high school freshman who places in the 30th to 70th percentile in your class, Inver Prep allows you to take college preparatory courses and, ultimately, college-level courses for credit at your high school.

CTE MN

Participating in a career and technical education (CTE) program of study will jump-start your college education! Starting as early as 9th grade, you can begin a Perkins CTE program of study in which you take college level courses at your high school, thus receiving high school credit and college credit. Upon high school graduation, you then complete your program/degree at Inver Hills. Please note that credits earned are only valid at Inver Hills.
