Subjects to be considered with your mentor

Introduction
In coordination with the online peer review rubric, the introduction page is designed to give students easy access to course content, teacher's information, syllabus and the procedure of class activities. This is also a good opportunity to discuss overall class objectives grading system, subject philosophy and organization of the course. This kind of communication can be done in print or can be done with "Tegrity"

Tegrity -  platform that provides students with video streaming of lectures and or class content.

Syllabus Content and Placement - because of the variety of tools available on D2L new considerations can be made determining alternative deliveries of class content. These options are then modified to suit desired organizational preferences.

Discussion of Formal Content Design

Format of Discussion

Comparative Questioning or Contextual Abstraction - as with conventional in-class essay writing students can post short critical conclusions to questions posted by the instructor which can in turn be critiqued by classmates.  This is one of several approaches to controlling classroom dialogue.

Feedback and management
Guidelines should be addressed as to give students an understanding of reasonable feedback expectations in correcting papers and other course materials.

Student edacity and submission guidelines
Student group communities can be profiled in D2L to execute group projects. Considerations are made in managing and addressing peer conflict with in a small group.

What is an acceptable content for submission?
As students break away from the casual demeanor of e-mail or chat communication outside of the classroom, student opinion will require direction towards that of formal debate; including fact or logic to support statements and conclusions.

Social protocol The term "Netiquette" has been coined in the online peer review rubric to accurately address etiquette protocol in the D2L cyber environment. As many students may not readily associate online communication to the academic environment, it's recommended that guidelines for discussion are addressed on the introduction page.
