My Accounts
You have four important accounts at Inver Hills. At the end of orientation, you'll activate each of your student accounts. Let's go over the function of each account.
eServices account
The eServices site is where you'll register for classes, check your financial aid, make online payments, print unofficial transcripts, and update your official contact information.
Username: your Inver Hills student number*
Password: your PIN - initially your birthdate in YYMMDD** format or the last six digits of your SSN
How to access: Start at the Inver Hills homepage > Click on Inver Log-in > Online services log-in
Campus Network
Want to use computers and printers on campus? You'll need this account whether you're using computers in any of the labs or if you're connecting with your own computer to the wireless network. This account is also used with the Smarthinking online tutoring, the Ask a Counselor service, and purchasing software through the Inver Hills bookstore. Your network account also gives you access to your Z drive which allows you to store up to 25MB of course-related files.
Username: created when you activate your accounts, you'll need your eServices account information
Password: you create it during activation; must meet given criteria.
How to access: You'll be prompted to login whenever you use any of the above services.
E-Mail (Hosted by Microsoft)
Your Outlook Live (@go.inverhills.edu) account is your official Inver Hills e-mail address. It is the only address used by college administration and faculty to communicate with you. Please check it at least weekly, if not daily, especially if you have instructors who contact you via e-mail.
Username: same username as the campus network
Password: you create it during activation; if desired, it can be the same as your campus network password.

Desire2Learn (D2L)
Taking an Online class? Used by most Inver Hills faculty, Desire2Learn is the classroom environment for online learning.
Username: same username as your online services account
Password: automatically generated, initially your birthdate in YYMMDD** format or the last six digits of your SSN
How to access: Start at the Inver Hills homepage > Click on Inver Log-in > D2L log-in
*This 8-digit number may be referred to as "Student ID," "IHCC ID," "Tech ID" or "Customer ID." It's known more generally as your student number.
**For example, if your birthdate was July 18, 1985, your initial pin would be 850718.
