      STUDENT  SUCCESS  DAY

Attendance

          Attendance requirements for Student Success Day are determined by your instructors.  Some require it, others assign it as extra credit, and still others have no requirement concerning it.  You may want to ask your instructor if he or she will give you any kind of credit for SSD, and let them know this Web site suggested that it is okay to at least ask.  It may help to show your teacher a print out of the old sample (from a previous term) to show him or her the kinds of sessions that may be available.

          How do you prove you attended SSD?  

Here are three possible ways in which your teacher may ask you to prove your attendance at SS Day.  Ask your teacher what types of activities count.  Possibilities include meeting with your instructor; attending 1-hr. sessions, keynote speeches, and workshops; visiting information tables for student clubs and service organizations; and, in the spring, attending the "Colleges, Careers, & Majors" Fair.)

                                          

Option 1:  Copy this short form below, paste it into MS Word, and fill it out:

       

          I, ______________________(print your name) hereby state that I attended ___ hrs./minutes of Student Success Day activities as listed above.  I attended these sessions for ___(number) of different courses.  (Please do not attend one session/activity for two different classes that require it.)  My activities included the following (with the times I attended each):

Option 2

            

Go to--and print--the "Student Planner" page.  Keep it with you on SSD.  At each session or activity, ask a presenter to sign it for you.  Then show it to your instructor.      

      

Option 3

                        

Write about what you did on SSD.  

      

1. Ask your teacher how much you should write: e.g., 100-200 words per session or activity.

         

2. Name the activities you attended.

        

3. Then summarize, reflect upon, or apply what you learned.
