For Presenters
BEFORE YOU PRESENT ON SSD: (1) If you already have a presentation scheduled, then please go to--and print out--"Presenter Instructions," the "Session Attendance Sheet,"and, if you would like, the "Student Evaluation Sheet." (2) If you need to see your session's description/time of day, please go "Schedules" (only available about one week before SSD), or email the coordinator. Your room number will not be assigned until a few days before SSD, at which time a final schedule with room numbers will be emailed to you. If you need another copy of this schedule, please pick one up on SSD at registration in the main entrance to Heritage Hall. (3) If you are using a computer lab with a number of computers in it, please get a key fob for computer labs ahead of time. All other rooms--including "smart" and regular rooms--should be open ahead of time for you. For more information about this, see "Locking/Unlocking Rooms" in the above printouts. (4) If you have technology questions, please see "A/V & Computer Needs" here in the right-hand column--or additional details on the sheets you print out.
NEW PRESENTATIONS: The SSD Committee welcomes all faculty, staff, and students to consider making a presentation. If you are preparing a presentation, you may propose it simply as an idea or with a title and description. To see past titles and descriptions, see the example of a past SSD schedule. Email your questions--or your (1) title, (2) description, (3) preferred time(s), and (4) your technology needs--to the SSD coordinator. Fall SSD emphasizes the basics of succeeding in school, whether academic or personal. Spring SSD emphasizes disciplines, careers, and professional life. However, all subjects are possible and appropriate at all times if students find them interesting and useful. |
A/V & Computer Needs
What technology do you need to support your presentation? Request it ahead of time from the coordinator. There are four types:
(1) Regular Room--all of them have overhead projectors (all rooms have overhead projectors)
(2)
Regular Room with TV
(3) "Smart" Room--1 computer with supporting Projector/DVD/other capabilities
(4) Computer Lab--with computers for all students
Be sure to specify what you need in your proposal to the SSD coordinator. Double checking your room several days ahead of time also can help guarantee it has what you need. To request what you need, email the coordinator. If you need to discuss details of what technology is available in a specific room, ask Dorothy Vogel, Media Services Coordinator for details. However, you should send room requests only to the coordinator. |
