Just by attending Inver Hills, you become part of whole other community-a campus community that provides you opportunities to meet new people, build on personal interests, or discover new ones.

See descriptions of events, activities, and organizations below, including a complete list of all activities, clubs, and organizations with contact information and links to other web pages or organizational websites.

Student Life Events

Fun, food and friends, special events for students at Inver Hills. See descriptions of major college-wide events below and watch this space for links to the Student Life Calendar (link opens a new browser window).

Kick Off

A great chance to get connected to the Inver Hills college atmosphere, this successful event gives students the chance to meet other students, faculty, and staff just before the start of fall classes. Students can join student clubs and activities, plus get insider tips and valuable information about Inver Hills. Tables featuring academic departments, student services, and student clubs and organizations are displayed on the mall. Student Success workshops are offered as well to give students a kick-start going into the school year. There is free BBQ, music, contests, and tons of prizes.

Spring Fling

A nice way to end the year with class, this themed barbeque with free food, music, contests and prizes is always fun and very popular among students.

Student Activities Budgeting Committee (SABC)

Students participating in the Student Activities Budgeting Committee are responsible for managing an annual budgeting process derived from Student Activity Fees. These fees are assessed to each student that attends Inver Hills (collected as part of your tuition/fees for each credit you're registered for). The SABE helps decide what your student monies will fund at Inver Hills. They decide on budget allocations for student clubs as well as special requests for college events and celebrations.

Student Ambassadors

These students assist the college with recruitment, retention and public relations. Ambassadors reach out to prospective and current students to make them aware of the programs and services we have available. Ambassadors promote student activities and campus involvement; give campus tours and assist faculty and staff with campus events.

Ambassadors receive a stipend comparable to a good-paying part-time job for the assistance they provide at events, orientation, and in representing the college. For more information about what ambassadors do and about becoming a student ambassador, visit Student Ambassadors. Application forms and procedures are included.

Student Senate

The Student Senate is the officially recognized representative of the student body at Inver Hills. Members of the Student Senate provide student opinion on college committees and policies. The Senate also develops projects and activities for members, the college, the community, and at the state capitol.

The magazine features short stories, poetry, artwork, photography, etc. Submissions should be sent to ihcc_forum@yahoo.com. Editorial meetings are held Wednesdays at 2 p.m. in A-218.
