Music

Music instructor Pauline Denielson

Students have several music performance opportunities at Inver Hills. The Inver Hills Choir meets as a regular class offering (MUSC 1105-01) and may be used as an elective credit. This course may be taken for credit or non-credit and may be repeated. The choir performs major concerts at the end of each term with additional events scheduled at other times. The Inver Hills Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensemble are community based groups that meet on the Inver Hills campus.

Students taking applied music courses (group and individual lessons) also participate in student recitals as part of their coursework.

Theatre

IHCC student prepares to go on stage

Major theatre productions are staged in the Fine Arts Theatre by the Theatre Department, one in fall semester and two in spring semester. Open auditions are held prior to rehearsals for anyone interested; no experience necessary. Students may participate in all aspects of the theatre, including acting, stage management, box office and technical work. The Theatre Club also produces small, student-directed play productions, allowing for even more opportunities for student involvement.
