Work-study programs

Federal Work-Study (FWS)

Federal funds are awarded by the Office of Financial Aid to students interested in working to help meet their financial need. The student is paid an hourly wage and provided the number of hours that they may work. The student receives only that portion of the award that they earn. If a student earns more than they have been awarded, other aid will be reduced. Students must apply for federal financial aid using FAFSA in order to be considered for FWS. The student must remain enrolled for a minimum of six (6) credit hours throughout each term or eligibility is withdrawn.

 

State Work-Study (SWS)

Institutional Work-Study (IWS)

Inver Hills CC uses some of its institutional funds to employ students. These funds are very limited and there use are approved by the various administrators. A student must have applied for federal financial aid using FAFSA to be considered for IWS funds.
