Inver Hills Students have completed over
35,729 hours in service to the community since Fall,

2003.

According to the Independent Sector, the total economic value of IHCC student service learning hours equals $670,633 over the past 4 years.

During the 2006-07 school year, 725 students and 38 faculty participated in service learning. Compared to 2003, this is twice the number of student participants and triple the number of faculty.

IHCC service learning is currently collaborating with 53 community agencies.

IHCC Service Learning Department was recently funded a Campus Compact grant worth $19,900 in a project that links civic engagement and college retention.

Each Spring, IHCC service learners participate in a Katrina Relief Excursion, which includes approximately 25 students, 4 faculty, and over 1,000 hours of service work to the New Orleans Community.
