Veteran Services
Inver Hills Community College acts as a liaison with the Veterans Administration for individuals who wish to use their veterans benefits to attend the college.
Early Registration Opportunity for Summer and Fall 2013 for veterans, service members and dependents*
Please call NOW to make an appointment with a counselor to plan your summer and fall registration.
You will not be allowed to register until you do so.
Priority registration opens for the general college population on Monday, March 18th, but you are eligible to register starting on Monday, March 4th if you have already met with a counselor!
What you need to do:
- Call the counseling appointment desk at 651-450-3508 and tell them that you would like to schedule a meeting with a counselor for veteran’s registration.
- Register for your fall and/or summer classes.
- Submit your benefits request form to Sue Flannigan.
- Fill out the 13-14 FAFSA as soon as you have your 2012 taxes finished.
*Please note that dependents must be using VA educational benefits.
Credit load requirements
For Fall and Spring Semesters only; based on entire semester:
- 12 or more credits = full time
- 9 - 11 credits = three-quarters time
- 6 - 8 credits = half time (7 credits is required for Post 9/11 BAH)
- 5 credits or less = tuition only
(Contact the Veteran Services Coordinator for credit load requirements during the summer.) While attending Inver Hills, each veteran is responsible for reporting all changes of credit load or clock hours.
Request your enrollment certification
New and current students: Schedule an appointment with a counselor before registering for classes to insure appropriate coursework within your degree
program and to obtain the Enrollment Certification to request your educational benefits.

IHCC veterans support group
Ask the Veteran Services Coordinator about the veterans support group. We provide a means of communication, fellowship, and support for veterans who attend IHCC.
