Getting Connected

As an Inver Hills student, you will be required to activate and utilize each of the four accounts listed below. If you haven't already, please take a few moments now to make sure you can access your accounts before the semester begins. This is imperative as an online/blended/hybrid student as account activation will start you on the right path toward a successful positive learning experience.

To ensure proper activation, it is important that you activate these accounts in the following order.

  1. E-Services Account: This is the account used to register for classes, view and make changes to your class schedule, pay your tuition, and manage your financial aid. Link to video on how to activate your E-Services account.
    •    If you registered for classes online, you have already set up this account.
    •    Your username is your eight-digit student ID number that can be found on your admission letter; contact the Enrollment Center if you do not know your student ID number.
    •    Your initial password will be your birthdate in YYMMDD format OR the last six digits of your Social Security Number. Once you log in for the first time, you will be prompted to change your password.
    •    To activate and log in to your e-services account, click here.
  2. I-Net Account: This account is used for logging in to campus computers and wireless network, printing, and your network file storage folder. Link to video on how to activate your I-Net account.
    •    This account must be activated in order to be able to access your Inver Hills Community College E-Mail Account.
    •    You will need to wait until after 6 am the following morning after your application and full admission to the college has occurred or you have registered for a course as a limited enrollment student before activating your I-Net account.
    •    To activate your I-Net account visit: https://www.inverhills.edu/accounts/inet/Login.aspx.
    •    To retrieve your I-Net username, enter your eight digit student ID number (that you used in #1: E-Services Account activation) and your e-services password (that you set in #1: E-Services Account Activation).
    •    For further assistance please contact the Open Lab.
  3. E-mail Account: This account is the official means of communication for Inver Hills Community College. You should check your Inver Hills e-mail account weekly. Link to video on how to activate your E-mail account.

    •    Your E-mail account password is the same as your I-NET account password.

  4. Desire to Learn (D2L) Account: D2L is the web-based classroom environment used with online, blended/hybrid, and some on-campus classes. Link to video on how to activate your E-mail account.

Open the E-mail, click the reset password link, and follow the on-screen instructions. In the Username field enter your eight digit student ID. Note that the reset password link found in the E-mail expires 72 hour(s) after your initial request.
    •    After activation, to log in to your D2L account visit: https://inverhills.ims.mnscu.edu/shared/login/index.htm. Remember, your D2L username is your eight digit student ID.
