Geek Squad Academy at Inver Hills
In June 2008, Inver Hills Community College hosted two Geek Squad Summer Academies. The first academy was for middle school kids and had approximately 30 participants. The second academy was for high school kids and had approximately 60 participants. While at the academy, kids did the following activities:
- PC Build - Students saw an overview of each computer component, assembled a computer from the ground up, and learned basic PC troubleshooting tips
- Web class - Students learned about the web and internet safety, security, and ethics. Each participant also constructed their own webpage
- Multimedia - Students took digital photos and videos. With those pictures and videos, the students learned how to edit, podcast, and stream their creations
- Green - Students did many activities revolving around ways to use and make technology more environmentally friendly
- Dance, Dance Revolution
- Rock Band
- Nintendo Wii
