Returning student? Contact our Enrollment Center to update your admissions information.

Non-degree-seeking student? That's you if you are planning to take classes to further your knowledge and experience or to transfer back to your current college or university, but you do not plan to get a degree or certificate. Visit non-degree seeking students to learn more.

1. Apply for Admission

Apply online. Applications are due prior to each semester's application deadline. A one-time, non-refundable $20 application fee is required. The application fee can be paid in person in the Enrollment Center or online. The application fee may be waived if you are a veteran. Please do not let the application fee be a barrier to your application: contact the Admissions office to learn more. Applicants to the Nursing and Emergency Medical Services programs must also fill out an additional program-specific application form.

3. Submit Transcripts

(For transfer students only)

Please submit official transcripts from all previous colleges, including:

  • Colleges and universities outside of the Minnesota State system
  • Any PSEO and other coursework counted as college credit

Check with your sending institution to see if this is possible. This is generally quicker than postal mail and will help speed up the transfer evaluation process. Ask your institution to email: enrollment@inverhills.edu.

Methods to submit unofficial high school transcripts

Please submit an unofficial high school transcript or self-report your cumulative high school GPA. Unofficial high school transcripts are helpful for assessment placement purposes and sometimes for financial aid purposes.

4. Take Assessment Tests

No appointment needed. Call the Testing Center at 651-450-3650 or email in advance for testing hours or to find out if you are eligible for a test exemption.

5. Attend an Advising and Registration Session

Once you have completed the assessment process, you will be invited to register for an advising and registration session on campus. You will receive more information via email once your application is complete. For questions about orientation and registration, please contact our Counseling and Advising Team at 651-450-3508.
