Inver Hills Community College was designated a Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Company on August 22, 2010 by Governor Mark Dayton.
Minnesota State canceled all spring commencement ceremonies including Inver Hills Community College's May 14, 2020 ceremony. This included the Inver Hills' Military and Veterans Pinning Ceremony held right before commencement. This was not an easy decision but one made to protect the health and safety of our graduates, their families as well as staff and faculty due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The Yellow Ribbon Committee made sure that our graduates who served our country did not go unnoticed and sent them a graduation care package in honor of their milestone. This care package reflected their commitment, perseverance, and dedication in accomplishing their personal and academic success.
While we couldn't celebrate with our graduates in person, we wanted to assure them that they were in our thoughts, that we were glad they chose Inver Hills, and wished them a bright future!
Dedicated to the power and promise of education, we inspire students, build careers and strengthen communities. In addition, the college builds awareness and takes action to recognize and support servicemembers and military families before, during and after deployment.
With a breathtaking campus nestled in the hills of Inver Grove Heights, our college offers an affordable, high-quality education that can serve as a launching pad for almost any advanced degree or career direction you might wish to take.
Throughout our campus, staff, faculty and administrators:
Because of the supportive and affirming environment created by the personal attention received from our Military/Veteran Services Office and Counseling Department, our Military members, veterans, spouses and dependents are able to thrive at our community college.

We know that military and veteran students are often juggling multiple roles and responsibilities. As a result, our Military & Veteran's Service Office and our Counselors have partnered to provide a unique, wrap around services for our military affiliated students, entry to exit! Our Military and Veterans Services Office assists students with their veterans benefits and a variety of services. Our counselors provide an individualized orientation in an effort to help make the orientation, registration and veterans benefits process as simple as possible. Prior to the start of the semester, we invite all new military and veteran students to attend a Military & Veteran's Integration session to ensure a positive, welcoming and smooth start to each term!
