Coronavirus Information

Inver Hills Community College and the Minnesota State System Office continue to take action to limit the spread of COVID-19, the illness caused by the coronavirus.

Quick Facts

Stay Safe Guidance

  • A Stay Safe Guidance plan outlines campus COVID mitigation requirements, including:
    • Proof of COVID vaccination status or COVID testing status, effective September 8, 2021 for employees.
    • Proof of COVID vaccination status or COVID testing status, effective October 4, 2021, for specific student groups.
  • Ongoing updates to campus COVID mitigation requirements will be included in this Stay Safe Guidance.

Mask/Face Covering Updates

  • Effective Monday, August 9, 2021, all employees, students, vendors and guests must wear a mask while on campus at Inver Hills regardless of vaccination status.
  • We are taking this mitigation measure in response to the increase in cases of COVID-19, including the Delta variant, especially among the unvaccinated. Dakota County is now at a "high" level of transmission (CDC COVID Data Tracker). The CDC recommends this step because the latest research finds that vaccinated individuals can spread the Delta variant to others. We will continue to monitor rates during this mandate and adjust our approach should transmission rates change.

Vaccination Information

  • Proof of COVID vaccination status or COVID testing status, effective September 8, 2021 for employees. See Stay Safe Guidance for more information.
  • Proof of COVID vaccination status or COVID testing status, effective October 4, 2021, for specific student groups. See Stay Safe Guidance for more information.
  • Under revised CDC guidance, effective August 9, 2021, all individuals on campus must wear a mask and social distance regardless of vaccine status.
  • If you haven't been vaccinated yet, find a vaccine.

Social Distancing/Capacity Limitations

  • As a COVID-19 mitigation effort, campus classrooms will require 3 feet of social distancing. In other campus locations, 6 feet of social distancing should be maintained.
  • Limits on size and capacity restrictions for indoor and outdoor events will be lifted.

COVID Health Screening Questionnaire Tool

  • Effective on Monday, May 24, 2021, students, employees or visitors no longer need to complete the COVID Health Screening Questionnaire Tool (“green screen”). However, please continue to self-monitor for COVID symptoms and stay home if you are not feeling well and seek medical advice as needed.

Building Access

  • Buildings will be open normal business hours from Monday - Saturday.

COVID Status Dashboard

  • With the increase in vaccinations, reported cases on campus have decreased. Per guidance from Minnesota State, we no longer need to reflect the COVID status level alert on campus.
