According to the Department of Homeland Security, community colleges fill an essential role in delivering vital postsecondary educational opportunities in the United States. As a premier community college with nationally recognized achievements, Inver Hills provides an exceptional variety of academic and career-building options to our students, including:
Community involvement for our college means creating and growing relationships with business and industry, relationships that keep our programs relevant and provide internships while developing pipelines that create and fund scholarships and encourage equipment donations. Those relationships benefit from our alumni network, which is focused on improving ways for our graduates to share their knowledge and success by helping current students follow in their footsteps.
Community also means being part of the Minnesota State system that offers Minnesotans access to the resources of seven universities and 30 colleges with 54 campuses across the state.
Adult learners are an important part of every college's student population, and more adults will be coming to college to get started, finish their degrees, change careers and more. Adults have different needs and expectations than “traditional” students who are enrolling right after high school.
