INFS 1000  Information Literacy and Research Skills   2.0 cr

Provides students with the skills needed to navigate our "Information Society". Topics include how information and knowledge are produced, how to develop effective research strategies for locating, using, and evaluating information from print and electronic sources, and issues related to intellectual freedom and copyright. Pairs well with English, Public Speaking, or any research-based course. Best if taken within the first 24 college-level course credits, as research skills and critical analysis of information sources are integral to academic success. Prereq: Placement in ENG 1108 or satisfactory completion of ENG 0099.
