Math Center

Attention Students

The Learning Center will be reopening for reduced hours for the Fall semester with some face-to-face tutoring (math and writing) available during open hours and additional tutoring available online via Zoom. Students may access all tutoring availability by clicking the "Make or Cancel an Appointment" link. Please log back into TutorTrac up to 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. Once you log in, you will see an online appointment reminder with a link to the zoom conference.

Students seeking assistance with writing may also submit writing to A tutor will follow up via email.

Online peer and professional tutoring for math, writing, and more available Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. For additional tutoring support, students may access through D2L, 24/7.

The Math Center provides accessible walk-in services for students who are currently taking math classes at IHCC. It is an open work area where you can complete math assignments with assistance from paraprofessionals or peer tutors, who will answer your questions and provide study guidance. You can work independently or with a small group; there are 4 group study rooms available for reservation in the Math Center.

How can I make an appointment?

  1. Click on the green "Make An Appointment" button on the left.
  2. Fill in your "User Name" and "Password". Click "Log In".
  3. Click "Search Availability"
  4. For the center pick: "Math Center"
  5. For "Section" pick the class for which you would like to receive math assistance from a Math Center staff.
  6. Click on the "Search" button at the bottom left.
  7. "Green" times indicate when Math Center staff is available and "Blue" times indicate when the Math Center has walk-in times.
  8. Choose a time, enter reason as "Studying With A Math Center Staff". Enter your e-mail. Save.
Please Note: Leaving days and times as they appear will give you the full scope of when Math Center Staff are available. Limiting days and times may cause a No Results Found response.

Math Study/Homework Help

Whenever you enter the Math Center for help, please sign in on a Learning Center sign-in computer. If you're not sure what to do, ask a Learning Center staff member for assistance.

Besides doing math homework or studying math in the Math Center, you can work with math software like Maple and Minitab in the center’s Computer Lab. Check with a Learning Center staff member to learn how to access the software.

Some math instructors have offices adjacent to the Math Center. You can check posted schedules to see your instructor’s office hours or Math Center times.

Resources for Students

The Math Center has a wide variety of mathematics books that you can use for reference. The center also provides solutions manuals, study guides, tests and answer keys as well as a variety of math equipment, including graphing calculators, which are available for on-site use.

Math videos and CD-ROMs are available for most math courses and can be checked out for two hours or overnight from the Inver Hills Library.
