Gender Neutral Restrooms

• Single Stall, Gender Neutral Restrooms: Single stall, gender neutral restrooms are available in the following buildings on campus:
  • Business Building: 2nd floor
  • College Center: 1st floor/lower level directly below Welcome Desk
  • Fine Arts: 1st Floor Lobby
  • Heritage Hall: 1st floor and 3rd floor
  • Library: 2nd Floor
• Gender Neutral Shower Facilities: A single use, gender neutral, shower facility is available to students upon request on a first come first serve basis while the Rec Center is open. To use the facilities ask the person at the Rec Desk in the Activities Building (A115) for access to the gender neutral shower facilities. You will need to leave your Student ID at the desk and will be provided a key to access the room.

Safe Space Identification Sticker

The Safe Space stickers signal that a space is welcoming, supportive and safe for all identities. At Inver Hills, these stickers allow staff and faculty to indicate that they are allies available to LGBTQ students.

LGBT+ Club for Students

Become involved on campus. The LGBT+ Club exists to foster an atmosphere of acceptance and tolerance of diversity in sexual orientation, to combat homophobia, discrimination, and harassment in order to create a place of support, respect, pride and safety for all gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning (GLBTQ) members and their supporters. Name Change

To change your name in the system, go into eservices and click on Account Management- Name and Address Info. You can change it there and it will be reflected in all places that aren't legal documents. Legal documents are grade transcripts, official emails, and bills. Your preferred name will show up in D2L, in the roster system, library system, and all other non-legal spaces.

The following LGBTQ community organizations are able to provide support and resources:

• RECLAIM Mental Health Professionals – Low cost mental health professionals specializing in LGBTQ issues
• GLBT Host Home Program – Provides emergency shelter and short-term housing for homeless youth
• Lavender Magazine – a local, biweekly with art and entertainment reviews, leisure, calendar, news, and columns.
• Outfront Minnesota – Advocacy group for LGBTQ equality who maintains large Minnesota LGBTQ organization directory
• Mossier - An organization that offers employment advice, trainings, and job fairs for the community.
