Stay in Touch
If you attended Inver Hills, we want to hear from you. Staying in touch means learning about special events and following college news. The campus community is always interested in hearing about the career and life successes of our alumni. You are the driving purpose of Inver Hills.
Dedicated to the power and promise of education, Inver Hills inspires students to learn, discover, and build a better future. But the college needs your help.
We are proud to report that alumni giving grew the Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship Fund to more than $140,000 in the last 10 years. The fund is now regularly awarding scholarships each fall and spring semester. We encourage you to consider giving a tax-deductible donation to support this important scholarship fund and help more students.
Are you a proud graduate of Inver Hills? Do you want to give back and make a positive impact on the lives of current students?

Why Become an Alumni Mentor?
Make a Lasting Impact: Your guidance can shape the future of a student's career, helping them navigate challenges and make informed decisions.
Give Back to Your Alma Mater: By giving back to the Inver Hills community, you contribute to the legacy of excellence and foster a culture of support and growth.
Personal and Professional Development: Mentoring is mutually beneficial. You'll gain fresh perspectives, enhance your skills, and help someone achieve their goals.
Mentorships play a crucial role in supporting students’ personal and professional growth as they progress through school and into their post-graduate lives. Both mentors and mentees find the experience to be mutually rewarding.
Here's what you can expect as a mentor:
Our program coordinators work to pair the mentor (you) with a mentee (student) based on your career, interests, and background. At the start of each school year, we invite students interested in having a mentor and then strive to create matches with shared commonalities.
Mentors and students coordinate their meeting schedules, choosing virtual or in-person sessions. It’s suggested to meet monthly from October through April to discuss goals, career plans, and any support the student may need in their chosen field of study, as well as to build a personal connection. You don’t need to be an expert in your career field to be a mentor—guides and resources are provided to help you and your student plan these monthly interactions.
As a mentor, you’ll be a supportive listener, helping students explore their passions, set goals, and develop vital skills. You’re encouraged to share insights from your own career journey, offer advice on internships, job searches, or further education, and provide support through challenges while celebrating their achievements.
"I’ve tried to give her short-term actionable items to work on. I enjoy meeting with her and helping guide her as much as I can."
"This is my second year as a STEM mentor for Inver. I enjoy working with the student and I can say both years the mentorship meetings have been incredibly beneficial to the student."
"These meetings have been beneficial for both of us. The student seems to be very appreciative of the information I share with her, and she asks questions when she doesn't understand. I enjoy this experience very much."
"Our meetings have been a win-win. It's not just about being a resource and sharing my personal challenges, career paths, and success stories to my mentee, but also having a sense of responsibility to give back to family, community, and county. I see that program as a way of giving back to the college and community. I am paying it forward as it's often said."
