General Education and Career & Technical Education Courses
Students must meet one or more of the guidelines below.
12th Grade Students:
- Rank in the upper one-half of their class OR a score at or above the 50th percentile on a nationally standardized, norm-referenced test
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Evidence of college readiness by placement into college level English and math as indicated by your high school transcript information, the ACCUPLACER assessment, or with qualifying scores for the individual subjects on the ACT test or SAT Test
11th Grade Students:
- Rank in the upper one-third of their class OR a score at or above the 70th percentile on a nationally standardized, norm-referenced test
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Evidence of college readiness by placement into college level English and math as indicated by your high school transcript information, the ACCUPLACER assessment, or with qualifying scores for the individual subjects on the ACT test or SAT test.
Career and Technical Education Courses only
All 10th grade students in their first semester, or 11th or 12th grade students admitted with the restriction of taking only Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses, may enroll in one CTE course during their first semester. If the student receives a grade of “C” or higher in the course, and they meet the college placement requirements and course prerequisites, the student may take both General Education and CTE courses in subsequent semesters, and they may take up to 16 credits each semester. This includes 10th grade students in their second semester.
11th and 12th grade students that do not meet the Admission Guidelines shown above may be eligible to take Career and Technical Education courses. Please complete all of the application steps shown above if you are interested in this course option.
10th Grade Students
- Must have taken the 8th grade Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) reading test and met the proficiency level that meets or exceeds the standards. Please provide this with your application.
OR
- Must meet the acceptable placement requirements established by the college as indicated by your high school transcript information or the ACCUPLACER assessment.
- Must complete all of the application steps shown above.
