He will share ideas on how the commonplace is often the source of art and how to stay open to inspiration during joyful times and difficult times.

Effect of Warmup Exercise on Time to Fatigue

In human anatomy class, we learned about muscle physiology. We’re curious how warmup can affect time to fatigue compared to no warmup. We designed study to test muscle fatigue in wrist flexor muscles by squeezing socks in 20 second intervals. Our poster will determine if warmup exercise increases fatigue resistance.

Using DNA Barcodes to Identify and Classify Fungi Mold Species

This poster explores the process to extract DNA from samples of fungi molds. We amplified specific regions of DNA by PCR, then using a Bioinformatics program called Basic Local Alignment Search Tool to be able to identify the DNA and Barcode of Life Database to identify species of fungi molds.

Asthma is a disorder that affects the respiratory system. When an asthma attack occurs, the airways narrow, causing swelling and creating excess mucus. There are many triggers to asthma such as chemicals, allergies, and more. There's no cure for asthma, however there are treatments such as inhalers and oral medications.

The aim of our experiment is to observe the effects of mental fatigue on muscle fatigue and perceived exertion. We hypothesize that performing mentally fatiguing tasks immediately prior to physical activity will impair performance, increase muscle fatigue, and increase perceived exertion.

Mast cells play an important role in the body’s response to allergens. Mastocytosis is a disease in which the body produces too many mast cells. This overproduction of mast cells causes lesions in various locations throughout the body. These lesions over-release mast cell mediators, leading to many physiological responses.
