Transfer Pathway A.F.A.

The 60-credit Transfer Pathway A.F.A. in Art is a pre-professional program that offers you the powerful opportunity to complete an associate degree and transfer with junior-year status to a designated Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) program in art-related majors at five universities in the Minnesota State system.

The A.F.A. degree also gives you a head start if you’re aiming to make your way as a successful artist or specialist in the art job market. As a student in the A.F.A. degree program, you will complete Required Courses (19 credits), Restricted Art Electives (12 credits), Free Art Electives (6 credits), and the General Education Curriculum (23 credits) for a credit total of 60.

This course is a capstone course for the Associate of Fine Arts (A.F.A.) Art transfer pathway degree and is designed to prepare students for the next step in their educational or career development. In addition to creating an online portfolio of personal artwork, this course will explore artist resumes, artist statements, applying for exhibitions, business for artists, and installing an exhibition. Students need to have earned, or be concurrently enrolled in, 27 credits or more of Art courses within the Art pathway curriculum, or by permission of the instructor.
