Janine Dahl joined the mathematics faculty in in fall 2010. Janine has a Ph.D. and M.A. in Mathematics from Rice University in Houston, Texas. Her doctoral dissertation was titled The Spectrum of the Off-Diagonal Fibonacci Operator. She earned her B.A. in Mathematics at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. Janine was a student at Inver Hills from 2000–2002.
Best part of her job as an Inver Hills instructor: "The students!"
Janine loves math history. Her other hobbies and interests include running ("well, really jogging"), baseball and cooking.

Amy received her Masters of Education in Mathematics Education from the University of MN Twin Cities. She has been teaching as an adjunct professor for IHCC since Fall 2015. She has also tutored Mathematics, Statistics, study skills, speed reading, and test-taking strategies for the ACT, SAT, and Accuplacer tests.
Her Bachelors degree is in Music Industry with a Business emphasis, and she plays many instruments and sings. Amy also helps coordinate events for CoreCon - a Fargo, ND based Science-Fiction and Gaming convention.

Angela Gallant began teaching at Inver Hills in 2001. Angela has an M.S. in Mathematics in the field of complex analysis from the University of Kentucky. She has a B.A. in Mathematics from the College of Saint Benedict.
"I love having a chance to meet a new group of people every semester," Angela said, regarding her favorite part of teaching at Inver Hills, "to hear about students' dreams and goals, and to know I'm playing a part in helping them reach those goals."
Her hobbies and interests include baking bread, working in the garden, reading, knitting, creating with her kids, riding bike, and playing the piano and flute.

Deanna Green began teaching math at Inver Hills in 2011. Deanna earned an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2003. She has a B.A. in Mathematics from the College of St. Scholastica.
Before Inver Hills, Deanna served as a mathematics instructor at Northwood Technical College (formerly Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College) and UMD. Her online course at Inver Hills, Math 940: Intermediate Algebra, was recognized by Quality Matters.

James Leslie started teaching mathematics at Inver Hills in 1999. Jim has an M.A. in Mathematics with an Emphasis in Actuary Science from The Ohio State University. He has a B.S. in Math Education with a Minor in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota.
He has teaching experience at the following schools:
Jim has been nominated by students for Inver Hills Faculty of the Year on several occasions. Phi Theta Kappa students have recognized him as an outstanding teacher with multiple Golden Apple awards.
"To be kind, understanding and challenging while pushing students to levels they did not know they could reach," Jim said, regarding his teaching philosophy.
The best part of his job as an Inver Hills instructor is working with students of all abilities and backgrounds. He loves cultivating relationships with his students while helping them achieve their goals.
His interests include family, working at the family cabin and enjoying life. "For fun, I was the long-course national champion in the 200 meter backstroke in masters swimming way back when," Jim said. "Yes, I was the only person in my age group competing."

Carrie Naughton began teaching in the Inver Hills Mathematics department in 2004. Carrie has an M.S. in Mathematics and an M.Ed. in Mathematics Education from the University of Minnesota. She served as a teaching assistant at the U of M for three years.
As an undergraduate, Carrie double-majored in mathematics and computer science at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She taught math at local high schools for six years before joining the faculty at Inver Hills. At Inver, she has taught a full range of courses, from prealgebra to calculus. She also served as the Mathematics department coordinator.
Carrie is a a certified peer reviewer and master reviewer for the Quality Matters (QM) program. She teaches three online courses that have received QM certification for online design.
"The best part of being an Inver Hills instructor is helping students be successful in mathematics and reach their goals," Carrie said. "I enjoy working with faculty, staff and administrators who are dedicated to meeting the best interests of students and helping them find their paths."
Carrie added that Inver Hills students are busy, inspiring and interesting individuals with their own needs, challenges and life stories. "It is a pleasure getting to know my students while encouraging an appreciation for mathematics," she said.
Carrie is married with three children. Her husband is also a math instructor at a local community college. Her extracurricular activities include playing with her kids, reading, exercising and baking. She also enjoys traveling a few times each year to visit relatives and spend time with family.
