Details for Office Assistant

Duties: The position will provide general clerical support under the direction of the clerical staff to the college President, Vice President, Academic Deans, the Foundation office, Academic Affairs Project Manager and on occasion Human Resources. The position will manage the incoming and outgoing mail service, provide assistance with copy work, phone calls, and scanning of documents. The student worker must have knowledge of Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, and Outlook. The student worker will be granted for work purposes only, a student worker email address, access to ISRS for scanning purposes, and a long distance telephone code for phoning evening students only. The student worker will provide office coverage when staff are required to be away at meetings, and conferences, etc. The student must have a good understanding of the English language to communicate with all guests, via in person and on the telephone. With a good knowledge of the English language, the student worker will do many filing projects, thus the knowledge of alphabetizing names, numbers, and titles is essential. Due to the nature of the position and office, confidentiality is a priority; student workers sign a confidentiality form and are made aware it is grounds for dismissal if matters seen and heard in the office are discussed outside of the office. The student worker is required to abide by the office attire policy.

Qualifications: Office experience preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft products and a good understanding of the English language is required. Student must be work study eligible.

Work Schedule: Between 8-3pm, Monday thru Thursday, Fridays, 8-12noon
