Summer Bridge is a transformative experience for recent high school graduates who will be new, incoming TRIO students.
Summer Bridge includes workshops and conversations preparing students for college success, community-building events, and opportunities for participants to meet staff, faculty, peer navigators, and other students and get familiar with campus prior to the start of the fall semester.
Summer Bridge is completely free and students who participate in required events are eligible to receive a $500 scholarship toward spring semester. Please refer to our Summer Bridge page for full details.
The core functions of TRIO SSS are funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. This funding provides academic advising, tutoring, guidance in the transfer planning process, financial literacy education, and other support to TRIO students.
However, many students need some additional support, and this is where your donation really pays off. TRIO students are more successful than the average student at Inver Hills or nationally. TRIO students succeed at these levels despite significant financial and other challenges.
Donations to support TRIO can help to alleviate some of these challenges and offer opportunities they would not otherwise be able to access. For example, donations to TRIO may provide emergency meals, groceries, or gas money to students in need; purchase textbooks or other needed supplies not covered by financial aid; provide snacks at TRIO events; give a TRIO student the opportunity to attend a research or leadership conference; or support a TRIO student studying abroad.
To donate, visit the Inver Hills Foundation online giving page. Choose TRIO Program Support from the designation dropdown list. Thanks so much for your support of our program and our students!
