Scholarships for New Students

"WHY INVER?" ESSAY

Tell us why you chose Inver Hills! Applicants will be asked to write an essay and finalists will have their writing posted to social media, where everyone has a chance to vote for the winners.

Details

The "Why Inver" scholarship gives new students a chance to tell their story of why they've chosen Inver as the place to meet their educational goals. Our campus and your own community get to help choose the winner via online voting! Essay submissions of less than 500 words are due Aug. 10, 2020. The scholarship review committee will then narrow the list of new student applicants down to 5 semifinalists, based on the quality and originality of the essay. The finalist will receive a $1,000 scholarship for fall ‘20 and renewable for spring '21 (totaling $2,000), as awarded based on the essay who receives the most votes (which can be cast once daily through the 21st at noon). Friends, family, and community all get a chance to vote, and we encourage sharing your narrative on social media feeds if you reach the semifinalist stage. Semifinalists will receive a $500 scholarship for fall '20 and renewable for spring '21 (totaling $1,000).
