3. "UPSKILL @ INVER!" CONTEST

Tell us why this coursework at Inver Hills can help you in your professional development retraining, whether that be adding new skills, enhancing lifelong learning, trying something new, or broadening your workforce hopes and goals.

Details

The "Upskill @ Inver" scholarship gives new students a chance to take a course or two at Inver to develop, explore, or brush up on needed or new skills for the workforce by applying and enrolling as a non-degree seeking student to try a course or two. While non-degree seeking students are not eligible for federal or state financial aid, this scholarship serves as an opportunity to take coursework by auditing or pass/fail grading methods if a student designates those grading methods when registering. We do have a number of short-term certificates for workforce demand, too, the entry coursework of which might be of interest to explore. Brief essay submissions of less than 500 words are due Dec. 20, 2021. Scholarship recipients will receive a $1,000 scholarship for the spring '22 semester which can apply to coursework, associated course text books and supplies, and other educational expenses. Any costs over $1,000 are a student's responsibility.

Scholarship amount

  • $1,000 for Spring 2022, covering the total cost of coursework, course-specific supplies, and education expenses up to that capped amount*

*As an example, this scholarship will likely cover one course plus associated course supplies (books, course-specific materials, etc.), or up to nearly two courses, but not likely the supplemental supplies for both of those courses. Non-degree seeking students are not eligible for federal financial aid, but coursework can apply to degree progress or to awards if a student were to switch to degree-seeking student status for a future term.
