Bio

Barb (she/her) holds a PhD in Neuropsychology from the University of Arizona. She is the Dean of Liberal Arts at Inver Hills Community College, where she supports the Fine Arts, English, Communication and Humanities departments, First Year Communities, Library and Learning Center. Before her work as dean, Barb taught psychology at Inver for almost 10 years, assisted in the establishment of the college’s community garden, and helped her students pursue their goals in psychology and beyond. She has taught at Augsburg University, Warren Wilson College, Western Carolina University, and the University of Arizona. She has also worked as an institutional researcher and as a neuropsychologist.

Barb appreciates living next to a nature center where she can take long hikes. Her newest passion is weaving with a rigid-heddle loom while listening to epic-fantasy audiobooks. Her self-care includes meditation and journaling, having her grown kids (and first grandchild!) over for Sunday brunches, and learning Hebrew.
