Bio

Fran started her role as Guided Learning Pathways Project Director at DCTC and Inver Hills in April 2022. She supports the colleges with the implementation of Guided Pathways, a college reform initiative focused on improving the student experience. She currently serves both colleges as the Interim Director of Teaching and Learning. Before this, she worked at the University of Minnesota developing first-year experience curriculum to support transfer students in their transition. Most of her career, however, has been spent teaching developmental and first-year writing at community colleges across the country including in Minnesota, Massachusetts, and Wisconsin.

A proud first-generation college student, Fran started her college journey at South Central College, a two-year MinnState college, and remained a student until earning an M.A. degree in English from MSU Mankato. Seeking to learn more about supporting the student experience, she completed an Ed.M. degree in higher education at Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is currently enrolled in the Ed.D. program at MSU Moorhead.

Fran enjoys attending concerts, exploring restaurants, and practicing yoga. She resides in St. Paul with her husband and their loquacious African Grey parrot.
