I believe learning to see things from a different perspective, by using the sociological imagination, is one of the best gifts I have ever received. I want to pass that knowledge along to others and am very passionate about it. I believe an instructor's role is to aide and facilitate in students’ knowledge and understanding of a new topic. Students’ learning is very important to me, as is their opportunity to grow in a collaborative environment where they feel mutual trust and respect. Thus I use multiple strategies to help achieve this in the classroom (i.e., first day activities, presentations, discussions, media and other in-class activities). By doing so, I hope to cater to each individual student’s learning style.
