Vice President of Student Affairs
Kari Rusch-Curl is the Vice President of Student Affairs at Inver Hills Community College where she oversees Admissions and Outreach, Advising, Counseling, Accessibility Resources, Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, TRIO SSS, Career Development and Community-Based Learning, and Student Life. She’s been at Inver Hills since 2017, serving as Dean of Student Success and Retention prior to this role.
A Minnesota State employee for over 11 years, Kari also worked at Normandale Community College in the Advising & Counseling department, first as an Academic and Veterans Advisor, then as the Associate Director, and eventually as the Director. Outside of Minnesota State, Kari was the Coordinator of Campus Programs at Hamline University where she mentored student leaders and led retention initiatives and an Area Director at the University of St. Thomas, where she oversaw the college’s largest residence hall.
Kari is a regular volunteer with Bellis, an organization that provides adoption-awareness programs to high schools throughout the state of Minnesota. Outside of work, Kari enjoys running with her yellow lab, experiencing all the Twin Cities has to offer, and spending time with family and friends.
Kari earned a B.A. in English from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, and an M.A. in Education from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
